hello, big ears.

the appearance of fancy-pantsy head-dresses/head-bands/head-decor have become much more common in recent months. from turbans, to little pill-boxes with netting, to larger-than-life glittering bows, al la katie grand, the new (non-functional) head-wear has come a looong way from the traditional “fascinators” usually reserved for english weddings.

the more fantastic thinkers in fashion particularly over at louis vuitton have most definitely tip-toed in to fancy-dress-land and come up with the most excellent idea of the chic bunny girl head-band-hair-tie-thingy. i know it’s not for the wallflowers amongst us, but i would be a little bit silly with excitement if i could go to a party with some ears on.

even if i can’t QUITE find the right occasion (and no, madonna, you didn’t either. whore-boots, jacko gloves AND bunny-ears does not equal chic. it equals desperate, even with your new la moss cheek-bones)… i am still dreadfully gleeful every time i find some ear-like headwear  making it in to the glossies.

fashion is fantasy, not just function. and that’s why we LOVE it.
