my new favourite band (to get tomagotchi to dance to. you should see his moves)

no matter who is dancing, the xx are definitely my brand-new favourite band. to my little pink ears the opening track’s sound is reminiscent of slowed-down whispering 90’s dance. the album is a poppy mix of early noughties the-postal-service-gentleness and quiet, unasuming melancholic melodies. there’s a touch of the american analogue set in there too. cute but not at all cutesy, soft and rocking- it’s the kind of music you want to kiss your boyfriend to.

the xx members are only 20 years old and the xx have already been listed as one of the best albums for 2009 by pitchfork. oh, and they are from south london. the album is called “crystalised”. original and beautiful. it makes me feel like i’m walking on silver clouds.
