this triptych represents the next phase of UVA’s explorations in monumental site-specific LED sculpture – three brooding presences that respond to the movements of people approaching them, creating a visceral experience of sound and light. now that’s something special for triptych tuesday!

Designer and general rain-dweller Sang-Kyun Park has created a personal hydro electric plant and dumped it into an umbrella. LightDrops converts raindrops into electricity which in turn illuminates the umbrella through tiny LEDs embedded in the fabric. certain to lighten up your mood on a dreary day.

first off, i love the name ’super nature design’. and well, they just showed two very cool art installations as part of the electronic arts festival in Shanghai.
rabbit wonderland is a large outdoor LED based-sculpture based on the rabbit, super lucky in Chinese culture. the piece brings flashes of light, colour and insanity to Shanghai. [...]
