polish born model, malgosia bela is one of those rare and unique chameleons of fashion. unlike most of the other lucrative models whose image is now essentially a statement about their celebrity status, malgosia’s name seems to go under the radar, despite being ranked at #14 of world wide model earners. she is a blank [...]

the dude looks like a dandy, below in this editorial from popeye magazine, featuring model jakob hybholt. contrary to the opinions of lord henry, women are not always the decorative sex.

there are many many model competitions these days, but not many that produce a pair of hotties that can enjoy instant commercial success.
but that’s what the next model competition was all about.
british clothing giant next went on the hunt through the UK with the final taking place at the old billingsgate market to find a [...]

it’s pretty rare that an advertisement makes me want to skip around and do a little dance. but as much as i find it deplorable, i must declare it: stella mccartney, your ad makes me happy!!!
fashion IS the land of make-believe. and making-believe is truly at the heart of every little girl. and inside of [...]

androgenous, yet with with ultra-long blonde hair, brit girl emma balfour was one of the more enigmatic of the models of the nineties. i always thought she looked like she didn’t care too much about keeping up with fashion, which was what i liked about her. that, and her unique concoction of powerful/fragile/cold/dark/blonde beauty.
i just [...]

i just love steven meisel’s photography. once when bailey was interviewing models for a channel 4 series called “models close up”, he asked a chain-smoking kate moss “why do all the models love steven meisel? what’s he got?…” there was definitely a barb of jealousy in his tone.
kate gushed “because he’ll make you a staaaaaaaaaar!” [...]

a simple concept and a nice clip. an architectural model and 3D rendering of a building based on french electro outfit Justice’s ‘†’ symbol. It’d be the perfect digs for a Parisian gang, or a post-modern priest.

i love the way no-one in the UK really notices erin wasson. she’s a texan born super that loves to surf, skate and skip down runways for a living… and show up to the odd party. because she’s not heavily on the british fashion radar, it means that we don’t get a million wannabe wassons [...]

with the old version you could have gotten killed. with the new (and improved) one, you only have to watch out for paper cuts and excess glue inhalation.
design troupe postler ferguson describes these 1:1 paper kit AK47s as bringing ‘the contradictory experience of weapons into the home’, the aim being to demonstrate that they are [...]

this curious little enigma was shot on location of the new james blunt video, “love love love”. she must have been trying to catch 40 winks in between takes and decided it would be easier to just draw it on and be done with it. i like it because it’s strange and eerie: not at [...]
